Hypothesis

Original hypothesis: The modern chemically industrial method of producing aspirin will be more efficient than producing aspirin form extracts of a willow tree

The new null hypothesis: The modern chemically industrial method of aspirin does not produce a 100 % yield and high purity of aspirin

Throughout this investigation I intend to achieve a full compeltetion of the production of aspirin chemically, to produce the highest yield and purity that I can. I also intend to make aspirin the old way by using extracts from a willow tree. I intend to reject my null hypothesis, and accept my original hypothesis.

Due to problems and complications with the first part of the experiment (producing aspirin chemically), the second part of the investigation (producing aspirin using extracts from a willow tree) was not able to be carried out. Therefore the original hypothesis is no longer valid and the new null hypothesis will be used. I intend to reject the new null hypothesis, by producing aspirin chemically.
