Because of problems and complications during the experiment, the investigation had to be changed.

Originally I was going to produce aspirin using the new modern chemically industrial method and compare the % yield and purity against the production of aspirin using extracts from a willow tree. I would then intend to accept my original hypothesis. But because of un-for seen circumstances with the first investigation. The first investigation had to be repeated and thus there was insufficient time to complete the second part of the investigation. Therefore the investigation had to be changed as I only had time to complete the first part of the investigation. So the new null hypothesis was created.

If I had produced the organic compound within an industrial environment then the percentage yield of the compound would be closer to 100% and the purity would have been higher. Human error is a big implication upon the experiment and if machines were used to produce the organic compound such as within the industry then the organic compound would be pure and have a high % yield.
